The day after Thanksgiving...

Most people do this...
Or even this...
Or sometimes this...
Not this crew...We move chicken houses!

Chicken houses you say?

A House for chickens?

Yes!

Move'en......it.

Unfortunately for the chicken house, it roosted right where we are planning a house project in the spring. So we moved great grandma Lillian's chicken house up to grandma and grandpa's (Truth be told, I think the chickens are breathing a sigh of relief.). No small feat mind you. But nothing is too tough for this crew.

Even moving....a chicken house.

Lifting...ever so gently...

She rides...
Headed for the open road...
"The sky is falling!"
Almost there...
Safely home...to roost.

Dearest chickens, we will miss you. I will miss the boys mistaking dirt in the city for chicken poop. I will miss the feather assortment in my yard. I know you are in wonderful hands...and the boys know you're not too far....

Harvest

We deal in this....

Not this...

As a result, during harvest time we miss out on the fun things you get to do (like ride on really big equipment.) Thankfully we have good friends that are crop farmers. They asked us if we'd like to join in on the harvest fun and the boys were tripping over themselves excited.

Shep was as usual the first eager volunteer. The combine needed a little repair during Shep's trip so Sam wasn't able to go this time...(Hopefully we didn't bring "break down" vibes...but you never know with us).

It was great fun...Becky brought the food and the girls brought the fun.

Thank you guys for a great time. We so enjoyed it!

You are a blessing!

Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a
harvest if we do not give up.

4 years ago today...

God gave us an amazing gift....

Sam

From preemie..

To 6 months...
To 9 months..
To 1 year!
To becoming our beautiful 2 year old toddler..
Our smart and industrious 3 year old...
Our Sam...

The leader..Our little Napoleon...The general
Our gift.
HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY!!!

My joy. My buddy. My protector.
We pray that God continues to grow in you a spirit of
leadership and that you seek the Lord in all you do.

We love you so much!!

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord."

The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing?
Up in the air so blue

Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside-
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown,
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
