Laying down the wood..

For the last 7 years of our marriage, our primary source of heat has come from a wood burning stove (Which I abruptly came to terms with when I came home one day to find my furnace was RIPPED OUT and there was a large hole in the ceiling of my living room...but I digress.) The natural heat is great, if you desire the temp in your house to be somewhere between Hades and Africa....(Seriously though, I'm thankful for a warm house...I am!)

Gathering wood for the stove is always a fun chore for the boys to do, and thankfully we always have strong men around the homestead to chop it.

A team effort.
Shep getting it together.

Teamwork

Sol stacking.

Sam taking care of one of the baby kittens.

Shep getting in the action

Sol's wondering why everyone's slacking...

A beautiful sight...

All ready for the cold. Thank you guys for all your help!

*On a side note, no worries that our move to the new house will cause us to loose this precious wood gathering time. We have compromised and will once again jump into the 21st century and have a furnace, but we will also have a fireplace for wood burning enjoyment. :-)

Nothing like a good wood burning fire!! Mom and dad got those gas logs...and it's just not the same when you can flip a switch...I like to light the chiminea...Daren thinks my passion for fire goes a little far.... :0) Can't wait for the new baby!!!!! Rest yourself!!! Let us know if we can do anything or there is anything you need!!!

32 days??? Holy smokes (no pun intended)! This has gone fast and I can't wait to see the new Crew member.

Also, I'm glad you'll have a nice toasty house to welcome him or her into.

thanks for sending me that link about the Somali women. That is horrible.

Where do you find all the interesting things you read? Or the time to read it?

Are you feeling well?
