Life

{In bullet points}
  • The weather here has been absolutely beautiful which is partly to blame for this little tiny piece of blogosphere being neglected.
  • There are a number of happenings these past couple of months that I'd like to post about but just haven't. One being about the half marathon. {As I know people have asked for details} Finding the words sometimes feels strained as I tend to be a 'Did it, got the T-shirt, and done with it' type.
  • Heading out to celebrate the birthday of a sweet friend in a couple of weeks. A girl's week-end and I'm so looking forward to it. A wonderful person and great reason to celebrate. Ready to tear up Nashville. A wee bit nervous about leaving my babes though.
  • The huge flaws in my character overwhelm, frustrate and sadden me.
  • We are just about done with school for the year, and I have to say I've really enjoyed it. {Not having the weight of building a house has been tremendous} Trying to take homeschooling one year at a time and not get overwhelmed by looking too far ahead. Thankful for a great homeschool group.
  • One of my goals this summer is to try and finish reading all of the Timothy Keller books I have yet to read. {If you don't know of Pastor Keller, please check his sermons}
  • Our house. I am so thankful for it. I tend not to be reactionary and have to sit in something for awhile before I know how I really feel about it. Thankfulness abounds. Thankful it has helped create a space for me here and brought a tremendous peace in our living here. Thankfulness is in every drive back to the homestead, knowing I'm coming back to my home. A home I hope and pray holds many memories.
  • A couple of weeks ago the cowboy and I had a wonderful date night. We attended one of my most favorite musicals; Les Misérables. And it was wonderful. I cannot remember a more perfect date night. {All the cowboy's planning I might add} We don't do this enough.
  • Artist in constant music rotation these days:

  • Sometimes I become overwhelmed that no matter how we strive and toil {and even achieve and obtain}, the end of all of this is death. Trying to live in the joy that is beyond. Such a struggle to hope in the unseen sometimes.
  • Deviated from buying Starbucks coffee this past week. Tried Seattle's Best coffee. Jury is still out on it. Trying to broaden my horizons. Trying. :o)
  • It feels somewhat strange to not have a little {tiny} baby in the house anymore. This is the longest, in 7 years, I haven't been pregnant.
  • I started a garden. I'm the worst gardener ever. I'm thankful the plants know how pitiful I am and kindly grow anyway.
  • I wish I was brave enough to write.
  • Looking forward to summer. The kids teach me, in innumerable ways, about how to enjoy it.
  • Off to nap and snuggle with a certain 3 year old who just asked me to read with him. Gladly.

Beautiful life!

Once a Starbucks addict, always. . .even with Seattle's Best.

Trying to finish ONE T. Keller book this summer. I've been trying for almost 2 years now...

I love when you do post. You are such a challenging Christian. Not to say you are a challenge but you challenge me in my walk. I appreciate that.
Your date night sounds sublime; I've never seen that musical but I love musicals. And I need a date night.
Your girls' weekend sounds lovely, too. Nashville will be fun. Be sure to post about it so I can live vicariously! lol
I would love to hear more about how homeschooling went this year.

I agree with S Club Mom - "challenging Christian" is a perfect summation. So glad to hear your thoughts, and that you're getting more peace with living in the homestead... And I am with you on the whole enjoying not being pregnant ;)

I think the phrase you are looking for ladies is 'desperately challenged.' ;o)

But thank you ladies. If you lived with me for a day, you'd change your mind, but I am so honored by the sweet words. <3

Love to you. Your comments always make me smile and I sometimes feel contrite in sharing my gratitude for them. Much. Much love. xo
