I have million and two posts {I rounded down} cooking about our holidays. But in the meantime I thought I'd throw out an update on the fireplace project I had asked design help for.

We decided to go with an off-white color {which might change at anytime} I'd still like to paint or cover the back of the shelves a different color in the future too. The mantle {which I am head-over-heals in love with} was finished as a Christmas gift to me {per my request}. I don't have all my books in there yet {nor will they all fit} as I'm still sorting through them, but we are happy with how they turned out.

that's really pretty. I totally understand about books not fitting. Mine are ALL sitting in storage right now (as in Nick & Rachel's basement) but I hope for a big big big bookcase (or 2 or 3) to put them in some day.

LOVE IT. And yes, he did a good job on the mantle! Your house looks so cozy and farm-house-ish... my favorite style!
