Confession: There are some {many} days I question and wonder about our decision to home-school. Are we doing enough? Is this the best for them? Will they be behind? Are they too isolated? Will they be ready for the world? Will they be weird?
{The have our DNA, so I already know the answer to the last one}
{The have our DNA, so I already know the answer to the last one}
And then there are days that I am so profoundly thankful that we made that decision.
Today was just such a day.
{Though we still dealt with some serious behavior and discipline issues today too}
Sam declared that he had written a play.
{Proud mom alert}
Sam wanted his brothers and sister to perform the play with him. And, thus, he and his siblings went to work, rehearsing for most of the morning. Collaborating {conspiring} together, finding costumes, music and getting the scenery ready.
It was a beautiful sight.
{And they played together nicely, thankyouamen}
I was deeply thankful they were home. Together.
{We postponed school until later}
I wasn't allowed upstairs, where their stage was, until they were ready to perform. Wanting to wait until dad got home too. They were little jumping beans throughout the day. Excitingly telling me bits and pieces of the story {which honestly, even after seeing the delightful play, still isn't very clear. ;)} And assuring me how much I would love it.
And I did. We did.
A beautiful moment to breathe in the reminder of this wonderful {though bone strikingly exhausting} season of life.
Being summoned upstairs by this actress.
Thankfully they gave us a ticket....so we didn't have to pay.
