Wishing you a...

Happy New Year!
From, the J Crew

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

How is it possible...

that our...baby love...
is 11 months old...

Today?!?

What joy you are my sweet baby. It's hard to believe you'll be a year next month. You've brought us 11 months of pure bliss.

We love you!

So...

excited....

for....
Christmas!
(Shep can't even hide it...)

Looking forward to family, food and the celebration of the birth of our Savior....

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.

Tot books...

....at Christmas!

I found this template of a tot book on the wonderful Tot School web site. The boys and I had a great morning of Christmas learning:

The product: I made two for the boys
(Sol will have to wait untill next year:)
Shep loved the shapes
(Yes, they are still in their pj's...keep'en it real here)
Sam enjoyed reading the books
And the Christmas counting
Getting their learn on
(Doesn't everyone have a sword on their table?!)

A great activity...a great time together.

There are many other wonderful ideas on her
site. It's a fabulous resource for those who are teaching their young babes at home.
(*Also, please remember this family in prayer as the father of this beautiful family is battling cancer. Please
take the time to lift them up in prayer).

The countdown to Christmas has begun...

Though it's hard sometimes...

Missing you so very much dear Major...
____________________________________________________________________

My good friend Paul was lying in the backseat of a station wagon
Headed to New Mexico
Somewhere in the middle of the night the driver fell asleep
And hit the wall beside the road
My friend went through the window like a bullet through the glass
Dead before he ever hit the ground

Oh I believe though its hard sometimes
You are the resurrection and the life

Jody is a queen reigning prone upon a couch
For the past few years of numbered days
Because the virus in her body and the cancer in her brain
Are buying up the real estate
The medicine they give her trades nightmares for her dreams
Of memories too tragic to describe

Oh I believe though its hard sometimes
You are the resurrection and the life

I know the words of life to come are true
But sometimes they feel like salt upon the wound
When I’m asking in these moments where are you
Where are you?

Sometimes its like Lazarus, You come to roll the stone away
And watch him walk back out alive
Sometimes its like my good friend Paul, breathless on the interstate
Mother weeping at his side
Either way its something I will never understand
But I trust enough to take you at your word

So I believe though its hard sometimes
You are the resurrection and the life
