Determined - A Tale of Procuring Matchbox Cars

For all 2 of you interested in the story

Potty training Sam has been interesting. Sam has gone #1 in the potty since he was about 2 ½. Going #2, has been quite a different story. Without droning on about it, we finally got to the point where we knew Sam was just not going #2 in the potty because he did not want to. (We used pull ups at night, so he just “saved up” for those times...how fun does that sound?!)

About a month ago I purchased a box of 30 new matchbox cars on eBay and told Sam that he could have a car every time he went #2. (Yes, we are not above bribing)

Today we had complete lift off. After he got the first car, it truly was a curious study in scatology, a sight to behold even, as he seemed to have to go #2 every, oh I don’t know, 20-30 minutes.

I’ve never seen a kid so determined to go to the bathroom 50 times in a day.

Needless to say, we are slowly making a dent in the stash of cars…

What mom doesn’t love potty training?

(One down, __ to go!)

LOL!! We're not above bribing either. We finally told Charlie that if he could have a day with no accidents, Chuck would buy him a lego set. That got expensive, so we changed it to a week with no accidents, etc ;) But I know how you feel, the joy of Sam actually going potty...
