A first...a little girl's Easter dress...

As I think about my daughter's first Easter, and although I don't know what the future holds for us, I cannot help but think about the firsts of my friend Laura's precious girl, Sam

{isn't she beautiful?!}

Each first is a huge celebration.

Each first is filled with joy and tears.

Each first could be her last.

Baby Sam has Spinal muscular atrophy. SMA is the number one genetic killer of children under the age of two, it is an often fatal disease that destroys the nerves controlling voluntary muscle movement, which affects crawling, walking, head and neck control, and even swallowing. {To find out more about SMA please visit Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy }
