Vacation '09 - Day 6

Our last day...

Dem' bones and hanging out..

On the last day of our supa' vacation, we decided to check out the Agate Fossil Beds, where mammoth fossils were found. (Good thing the kids have a firm grasp on what Mammoths are thanks to the movie 'Ice Age.' *Yeah, we're classical educators here...*)

We arrive..

The view
Dem' bones
Getting a closer look

Grandma and the troops, heading out to explore...

Shep and Lilli taking a stroll and a chat

A bug was found...and investigated.

The beginning of the Niobrara river
(for real)

Heading back.
(There was a large fossil bed further on, but it was another 2 miles...we decided not to take the trek with the little ones.)
Time for a cook-out.
Lots of helpers
Hanging out

Grandma and Grandpa J

Shep slam'en a pop. (Nice)

Marsh mellow time...

A good nights sleep and off we went....back to our own homestead...

But not before checking out some staple sites of Nebraska...

Chimney Rock...
A great time, and great memories.

We can't wait to see 'our girls' again....

Thank you Tom and Vicki for a wonderful time, and creating a reason for us to celebrate!
