House Tales - Part V

Da' Roof...Da' Roof...is on...

Is on!

Coming right along with our house on the homestead. A lot of work went into getting the roof framed and shingled (and watching them up there nearly gave me a heart attack a hundred times over...gah..). But all went well, and it's starting to look like a bonafied house.

Ready to work...

Putting up the beams.
Just hanging around...

A little auto work was in order.
One at a time.
Using a crane to get the tresses up.
(The bucket looks like it's about to land on Tate, I assure you, he was further away:)
up, up and...
A piece at a time...
Tate cutting some boards.
A cowboy peek.
Coming along.
Getting er' wrapped as well.
And we have shingles...
A few windows and a door in as well...
Looking good and coming along...

So thankful for this blessing and that all were safe...

So tell me....is this FUN for you, or a nightmare? We've rebuilt an 80 year old house, and I've always said I could never build one. But lately I've been thinking a new one would be nice, and wishing I didn't have to endure ONE MORE WINTER with these 80 year old windows. It will be fun to watch your progress so please post more pictures!!
