Laura {her mama} lined the tables with pictures and outfits of hers. The service had a wonderful, painfully beautiful, sideshow that showed us how absolutely adorable Sam was. The sounds of her giggles from the audio filled the sanctuary.
We sat. Watching this beautiful baby girl.
We sat in grief.
We sat in tears
We sat in the unimaginable
We sat in smiles.
We sat in ache
We sat. And sat....as one of the most beautiful sideshows played.
Showing a baby girl who brought so much joy
Showing a baby girl who was once bound by a terrible disease
Showing a baby girl whose life was much too short
She held us captive, reminding us of the realities of this world, all the while showing us the joy she brought in her short 9 months.
Grief held us captive.
Grief demanded that we sit.
As we sit. We hope.
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.
-1 Thessalonians 4:13-
...and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
-Romans 5:5-

Please be in prayer for the Bennett family and their journey here without beautiful baby Sam...

My heart is just so heavy...I am and will continue to pray. Love to you Kathy--so awesome that, even though it was difficult, you got to be there at the service.
